Because we love to know the world and discover other forms of life, we decided to leave the south of France and travel after the change. This is how we arrived in Portugal.

After months of searching for a special place we could call home, we discovered this Monte and fell in love.

At the time, we didn't know that Monte do Sobral was one of the most important places in contemporary Portuguese history. Today we are proud to inhabit and share the land on which the revolution that changed Portugal began.
It was in the barn on our hill that, for the first time, Avril's captains met. Here it was discussed, organized and the revolt that would change the direction of the country was organized and conceived.

We know the responsibility we have, so we will continue to honor this past by receiving all the events that somehow want to celebrate April 25 and freedom.

For centuries the Monte has belonged to one family. Marco and Maria, the last owners, have converted the place into a small hotel with space for big celebrations which have animated the area for many years. When they decided to share their testimony with us, we made a commitment to continue the life and history of Monte do Sobral.

Thus, in 2019, the hotel is entering a new phase, after a major renovation that we have thought out and carried out with great affection and respect for the past.
Our house is now called Lodge Monte do Sobral and may also be yours.
We are ready to prepare and organize a dream wedding party, the most fun birthday, memorable family reunions and everything related to business events. We will adapt our space to your wishes.
